# I suspect my helper borrowed money from loan sharks, what can I do?

## Never make any payment to any potential loan shark.

If you suspect that your helper has borrowed money from a loan shark, the first step to do is to clarify this with the helper and make a police report if she shares the truth.

FDWs are prohibited from borrowing from unlicensed moneylenders and will be liable to have their work permits revoked and barred from future employment in the country if they do so, according to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

You may also make the informed decision to terminate her contract with immediate effect.
